Product Description |
| Heat water for cooking, to wash dishes, take showers, and make tea and coffee in just five seconds, with the Coleman Hot Water-On-Demand Portable Water Heater. Whether you're boating or camping, the Coleman Portable Water Heater will make your experience of the outdoors easier and more comfortable with on demand hot water. With variable temperature control from scalding (hot enough for tea or coffee) to cold and anywhere in between, the Coleman Portable Water Heater provides on-demand hot water as you need it. The heater comes with a 5-gallon collapsible water container but can be adapted for use with a hose with an additional accessory (sold separately) for continuous flow water. The heater works to heat water in just five seconds with a built in propane fueled burner (propane sold separately). Unlike traditional methods of heating water in the great outdoors (think tiny camp stove and two gallon pot) the heater is equipped with a built in igniter so you can turn the water on and off as you need it. A simple turn of the heater's dial delivers the hot water in just five seconds. The Coleman Hot Water-On-Demand Heater can heat 40 gallons of water on just one Coleman 16.4 ounce propane bottle and a single pump battery charge. Additional accessories that are sold separately include: a spray adapter for showering, a carry case, a water hose adapter for continuous water flow, and a bulk propane adapter. Specifications: - Built in ignite
- Instant on/off
- Swing-out spout
- Variable temperature control
- Uses propane for heating
- Battery-operated pump
About Coleman The Coleman Company has been creating and innovating products for recreational outdoor use since W.C. Coleman started selling gasoline-powered lanterns in 1900. Inventor of the hugely popular fold-up camp stove, Coleman developed a plastic liner for his galvanized steel coolers in 1957--the birth of the modern cooler--and the company has been improving their utility and design ever since. The array of products that bear the Coleman name now includes just about everything you might need to work or play outdoors, from tents and sleeping bags to boats, backpacks, and furniture. |

| We bought this for camping since we do it year-round in all sorts of weather, but it's been invaluable during natural disasters as well. The Coleman Water Heater kept us provided with hot water during an ice storm that killed power, and four hurricanes. Highly recommend. |
Works great - highly responsive

| We're dedicated car-campers and have always heated water on the stove for cleaning dishes and ourselves. Never again. The Hot-Water-On-Demand product works very well. You get hot water almost instantly and there is enough temperature control to use this as a shower with the optional sprayer attachment. We still use a sun shower for ourselves due to the hose length, but for cleaning our kids, washing dishes, washing your hands or face, etc this is fantastic. Battery life has been fully acceptable. We charge it before a trip then keep it plugged into the car when we're moving between camping locations. The propane cylinders last a reasonably long time - we've gotten 6 days out of the current cylinder and it hasn't run out. The unit is light enough to easily move it to where you need it. Ours tends to live at one end of the picnic table and we put a small basin below it to act as a sink. I fully plan to use this for the upcoming tailgate season. |
Dont leave home without it

I highly recommend this hot water heater.
We like to camp using a teardrop trailer. This device provides hot water for coffee, washing dishes and taking showers. While it can operate on the small propane cyliners we bought an attachment that allows use to use the larger propane tank on our trailer. We also purchased the shower spray nozzle and garden hose adapter. It is easy to change from the sink to the shower.
Also we got the bag which I recommend. It keeps all the stuff together nicely and is made for the unit.
This may be viewed as a luxury when camping but if your in remote camping sites this makes life nice and you can spend more time fishing, reading or sitting around the campfire! |
It HAD BEEN a great product until it stopped charging the battery, rendering it useless except as a cold water faucet

REVISED 2/4/08 We're dealing with more Chinese-made problems here. I no longer rate this highly, see "Comments" for full information about why.
Make sure to have your potable water source parallel or below the unit when it's pumping/serving the water. Another person told me they ruined theirs very quickly by not following these instructions and by also leaving the water in the feed line without allowing it to drain down/away/out of the unit, when they were finished using it. |
